Grand gesture for charity06.08.13
Icon Exhibitions & Display Ltd has donated £1000 to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, as an apology for sending out a postcard to some potential clients with underpaid postage.
MD Wayne Ball explains: “I’m sure we’re not the first company to make this error, and probably won’t be the last – but we’re glad some good can come out of bad, and are pleased it’s resulted in us donating money to a very good local cause.”
The donation has been made to Birmingham Children’s Hospital’s Cancer Centre Appeal. The £4m appeal aims to improve the lives of the 3,000 cancer patients and their families who are treated each year, by totally transforming the cancer unit facilities and accommodation at the hospital.
Emma Bryant, Corporate Partnerships Manager at the hospital said: “It’s refreshing to hear of a company admitting to a mistake and making a donation to apologise. We are grateful to Icon Exhibitions and Display Ltd for their kind donation, which will help our young cancer patients and their families.”
